Thankful Thursday: Mercy and Grace

I am thankful first of all for this meme...It really helps me to focus on what I am thankful for on a regular basis and is very encouraging.

I am so thankful for "GRACE" and "MERCY" that God gives me on a daily basis. I am so undeserving. I think of what the Apostle Paul says: The things he should do, he does not and the things he should not do, he does....But God Loves Us anyway. With his grace and mercy we can come to his throne and ask for forgiveness and He will forgive.

I am thankful for the knowledge that when I pray for God's protection on my family...God will provide.

I am thankful for miracles! You can see more of one specific miracle here. You will be blessed.

I am also thankful that my daughters and I have the opportunity to go on a missions trip to mexico. You can read more about this here.

God Bless and Have a wonderful week ladies.

Works for Me Wednesday:Excercizing is Good!

In thinking of what I could post about that works for me....I can tell you that I used to be close to 40 lbs heavier...I felt not so good all the time...tired and yuck.

The first step the worked for me in a great way and is still working for me is Weight Watchers...This is a wonderful program. I posted previously on works for me Wednesday on Weight watchers...You can see that post plus another one with helpful links here.

I droped 35 lbs and felt so much better. I basically lost the weight by diet...which was good. I did some exercising but not really.

Then several years ago my daughters and I joined Curves. This got us going on a routine to excercising. We liked it and were members for 2 years.

Then we wanted some change and we joined our local YMCA. This has been so awesome. We can excercise in so many ways, change up what we do. I feel better and have so much more energy than I used to . It has been so awesome. The first years I paid with the membership with money I made in a side venture breeding German Shepherd Dogs. After that we realized it need to be part of the budget.

Excercise works for me...You don't need to attend a gym to get excercize but it helps in our case because all three of us can get a workout in at the same time and we love it.

If you don't have an excercize program....start one....do it regular, and find someone you can do it with...maybe not together but report to. Good Luck!

Tackle It Tuesday-The Saga of The French Doors

Have you ever felt as if you will never have all the ducks in a row and have everything finished all at the same time....sometimes I think I might scream! Our house is a never ending list of things to do!

Anyway, with that in mind.....I we have been in this house for 17 and 1/2 years. We just replaced the french doors in the basement, which is currently serving as our bedroom....yes, double french doors and no walls....do you get the picture....lol.

Well, so the new doors are in, and I am thinking, since we have someone renting the mother in law apartment right now ........................and they park right outside of the double french doors, which, did I mention is my bedroom, and there are no walls......just one big room and two french door!!!!!!!!:(.......

So, I decided maybe it was time to put something up to keep everyone from peeping in my bedroom. I got these sheers up and they seem to do the trick in the day time but at night, not so much....ugh...............so depressing to get the project done and it not be the total solution...

Here is the result...they look good except for the insulation all around the door...I am not really sure if this the the permanent look or temporary...lol..........do you see the pretty pink insulation?

Here is a funny for you. I have a very large grand upright piano the I put sorta as a wall between this lovely door and my bedroom part. There is an office right inside the door, a piano as a separation, (sorta) and then the bedroom...against the far wall is a mirrored dresser. The piano is a grand upright and is tall enough that is comes up to my nose. I thought I was purdy smart, right. I had made a place I could dress and be blocked from the dreaded french doors.

My daughter comes in one day from outside, the french doors and says to me, "Mom, do you really think that no one can see you?"
I peeking from behind the piano and said , Of course not, I am behind the piano silly."
She laughed and said, "Mom, turn around."
With a puzzled look, I looked around , into a very large mirror with her waving to me and me, in my unmentionables bigger than howdy for all to see.
I about died. She laughed until she was crying.

So there you have it, the saga of the French Doors and the solution that looks good but doesn't really solve the whole problem.
Do you have any suggestions, Please Help Me!
Hope you enjoyed my story.

A Consumer Review: Covergirl Outlast Lipstain

I had the opportunity to try a new lip product by Covergirl. I was given this opportunity by being a BuzzAgent. As a BuzzAgent I am sent products to try and share with others what I think and offer them either coupons or samples to see what they thought...It is a fun thing....If you are interested....go to the BuzzAgent Site.
Outlast Lipstain has water-based colorants that give lips a beautiful, lightweight flush of color that won't come off. Believe me...it last forever. It is awesome. Plus the color is not a heavy color, it is just right. It feel light unlike an ordinary lipstick. It is really cool because it comes in a pen like applicator that makes it easy to define the lips...easy application.

You can go to see the shades available here.

You have to try this product.

With this in mind I have 5-$1.00 off Coupons for this product.

To get a chance at one of these coupons, go to the Covergirl Website, look at the shades available and leave a comment telling me your favorite shade of Covergirl Outlast Lipstain.

I will choose 5 winners 2/27/09.
On your mark get set ..............................go!

Friday Show and Tell: The Parents Edition--Come as Little Children

This week just started, how in the world could it possibly be over?

Did you ever notice how God can speak to us through our children? If you haven't noticed, then your weren't paying attention. It amazes me how we can walk around and not notice something that is right in front of us until our children point it out. I love it when this happens and I always praise God when I notice, because I didn't get it when God was trying to reach me....he had to use the children to get my attention.

I am daily thankful for children that have a heart for things of the Lord. I pray daily that they will continue to walk with the Lord and I will continue to notice when the Lord is trying to get my attention through my children.

And now share with all of us your special :
  • accomplishments
  • awards
  • breakthroughs
  • field trips
  • special moments
  • funny things your child said
  • successful teaching methods or curriculum
Basically, this is an easy thing...don't think of it complicated. We all have things that happen in our week with our kids that we immediately want to share or "light bulb" moments with our kids that we want to share.

This is the place...we can learn so much from each other and encourage each other in this journey with our children.

Please copy the button at the top of this post and place it at the top of your post, then link it back here.

Guess What? God is on Your Side! Read This!

This post of from the result and notes of a sermon preached by Tom Fox at church. I hope you enjoy some of the verses and points I gained from this message.

Romans 8:28-34 (King James Version)

28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Did you realize that we have a champion in our corner, fighting for us. When we mess us, when we are down, when we feel that we have no hope, Jesus Christ is in our corner fighting for us...

That makes me smile and cry all at the same time. :)

Here is another one: God is also fully capable of taking care of us..God is So Big! How Big? I am so glad you asked.

Isaiah 40:12 (King James Version)

12Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

That is really Big! God is able to take care of us. If we will just let him be in control of our lives, we would be in alot better shape. huh?

Why do we have so much trouble trusting God, letting go, giving him full control? I read the following passage and I cry when I think of the faith Abraham had not only in this passage but when God told him to go. Go away from all he knew, all his securities.

Genesis 22 (New King James Version)

Genesis 22

Abraham’s Faith Confirmed
1 Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!”
And he said, “Here I am.”
2 Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”
3 So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. 4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off. 5 And Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the lada]">[a] and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.”
6 So Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went together. 7 But Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!”
And he said, “Here I am, my son.”
Then he said, “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”
8 And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together.
9 Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. 10 And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
11 But the Angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!”
So he said, “Here I am.”
12 And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”
13 Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide;b]">[b] as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”
15 Then the Angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, 16 and said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son— 17 blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. 18 In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” 19 So Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.

I am sorry this so long....he he...

Now for the the Thankful part.
I am so thankful that God is in my corner. On my side. In Control ( If I will let him be)

Blessings,
Lynne

Tackle it Tuesday-Tackling Clutter

(Not a picture of my house :) )
You know how you let the clutter get built up all over the house? Well, I am the master of clutter. making it that is. lol.
The best way to tackle clutter is to get laundry baskets. I have one for upstairs and down.
I set it in the hallway and start in one room. If the items go down, I put them in the basket...if it stays up I put it in the other. After my collection, I put the basket on my hip of off I go putting the items up.
This stops you from going back and forth!
Plus if you are in a hurry, someone coming over...you take the baskets and put them in a closet to finish later.
If you forget the baskets are there and find them later......and didn't miss what was in the baskets, take it all to goodwill....lol
