Making a Budget and Sticking To It: Part 4

You can trim up your budget, here are some way how:

Decreasing Expenses

If your expenses exceed your income, you will have to cut expenses or increase your income. If finding more income is not realistic, focus on decreasing your expenses. The trick is doing this without depriving yourself of items or services you truly need.

Reduce the amount you spend in each category. Review your expenses and look for categories you can comfortably reduce slightly. For example, let's say you need to cut $175 from your budget. You had planned on spending $100 a month on meals at restaurants, but are willing to decrease that to $50, thereby saving $50.

Preserve things you cannot live without. Make a list of things you feel you can't live without, and whittle down your other expenses to accommodate them. For example, you may decide to give up most of your magazine and newspaper subscriptions because you know you'd go nuts if you couldn't go to the movies once a week. If you make room for at least some of the things you love most, you're much more likely to succeed at your plan.

Show and Tell: The Parents Edition

This week has been a wonderful week. It is Missions Week at our Church and we have been blessed and blessed again and again. My daughter has carefully blogged about the activities and shared what she got from each activity. She will continue to do so until the end of the week long event on Sunday.
I could tell you all about this, but better yet you can go to my daughters blog and read it from her perspective.
I hope you are blessed from it.
Click here to go and share in this life changing event that we have had the opportunity to be involved in this week.

And now share with all of us your special :
  • accomplishments
  • awards
  • breakthroughs
  • field trips
  • special moments
  • funny things your child said
  • successful teaching methods or curriculum
Basically, this is an easy thing...don't think of it complicated. We all have things that happen in our week with our kids that we immediately want to share or "light bulb" moments with our kids that we want to share.

This is the place...we can learn so much from each other and encourage each other in this journey with our children.
