Happy Grandparent's Day!

GRANDPARENTS

Grandparents bestow upon their grandchildren
The strength and wisdom that time
And experience have given them.

Grandchildren bless their Grandparents
With a youthful vitality and innocence
That help them stay young at heart forever.

Together they create a chain of love
Linking the past with the future.
The chain may lengthen,
But it will never part...

Tennessee's Tax Free Weekend! Yeah!

Summer Event - The 2009 Summer Sales Tax Holiday is set for Friday, August 7th, 2009 at 12:01 a.m. thru Sunday, August 9th, 2009 at 11:59 p.m.

Applies to:

  • Clothing under $100
  • School supplies under $100
  • Computers under $1500
Get out there and get some stuff! Remember that if you buy a computer...there might not be many GREAT deals....but remember...Some stores like BEST BUY will let you get the difference if an item goes on sale after you bought it...they match that price!

here is a quote from their web site..

"I recently bought an item at Best Buy.com, and now the item is listed on your Web site at a lower price. Does this qualify for price matching?
We will refund 100% of the difference, including tax, if your product's price is reduced during the return and exchange period on your product."

Also....last year we started shopping several days before the tax free weekend actually started. It was not crowded and we could decide exactly what we wanted, right? So then the sales person suggested that we go ahead and buy the item and it would ring up regular...bring back in the sales recipt during the weekend and they would simply credit us the tax....I am not sure if they will do this now....but ASK! This would save you so much time and you will have a better selection !

National Cheesecake Day: Freebies, Half Off & Recipes!

For lovers of the cheesy cakes, there is no greater holiday. And today several cheesecake purveyors are offering free or half-off slices. Regional spots like Elis Cheesecake World in Chicago and Copelands in Georgia and Louisiana are offering customers free slices. If you've got a favorite local spot that specializes in cheesecakes, give them a ring. Chances are they're offering some sort of freebie or special to mark the day.

And the national outlet The Cheesecake Factory is also celebrating with a sweet deal: half off a slice of their super-rich creations. The catch is you must dine in to get the deal, and we're guessing you'll have to wait a while for a table. But half-price cheesecake doesn't come around every day, so if you're a fan, head on over. (Check with your local Cheesecake Factory to be sure they're participating, first!)

And if you're not able to hit The Cheesecake Factory today, try one of these 10 great recipes for cheesecake at home.

Packing for a Holiday: Away for it ALL!

Around here we have to make fun out of what ever it is in our schedule that we HAVE to do....This Holiday we have to go to West Virginia for Work for my husband. We have family there and we LOVE spending time with them. So we get to spend the Holiday with our family!

We don't usually travel on Holidays so this is different for us.

While we are there we are taking advantage of the mountians and I am taking the girls sking....yeah....not me....just them...I am perfecting the sport of sitting and watching...I am getting very good at this.

We are excited and are packing today. So this is my tackle!

Enjoy your family for Thanksgiving!

God Bless,
Lynne

Happy Thanksgiving

A Little Humor for the Holiday Season!
____________________________________________________________________
On this holiday I am thinking of all we truly do need to be thankful for but because of all we have been blessed with, we don't see it. We take so much for granite. Right now, with the economy in the state it is in, it gives us a chance to realize what we really do have. Something like freedom,
free·dom
Pronunciation:
\ˈfrē-dəm\
Function:
noun
Date:
before 12th century
1: the quality or state of being free: as a: the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action b: liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power of another.
Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom to assemble for our worship services, freedom of press, so that we may print and distribute the Word of God, freedom of educating our children the way we see fit through God's eyes.
With all these freedoms that we should be thankful for....Everyday, we are in danger of having these freedoms taken away.
We need to be thankful and we need to pray for the leaders of thie country.
As you are celebrating this Thanksgiving, Pray with your families for our nation, and for our freedoms.
God Bless you ,
Lynne
